CORPORATE TYPEFACES
To create a consistent look across a wide range of communications, some typefaces have been selected for use
by NUS entities.
The selected fonts should be used across communication materials related to NUS corporate events and official
branding collaterals.
Frutiger, a sans serif font, has been selected as the NUS primary typeface because of its legibility and distinct
typographic style. It should be used for printed stationery, signage and logos only.
TYPOGRAPHY : FOR PRINT USE
*Frutiger is not a standard Windows font, and has been purchased from a font foundry by the University. Licenses
to use Frutiger are limited, and each NUS entity is entitled to one license. The license cannot be shared or
transferred to another party, and usage is restricted to print media or PDFs. If you wish to embed Frutiger in your
website or digital content, your entity will need to acquire an extended license. Please note that unlicensed usage
of Frutiger will incur a substantial fee from the font foundry, which shall be borne by the NUS entity in question.
TYPOGRAPHY : FOR PRINT, WEBSITE AND DIGITAL USE
Roboto, a sans serif font, has been selected as the alternative NUS primary typeface due to its exceptional
legibility across print media, websites and digital content.
While Roboto is not a standard Windows font, it is available as a commercially free typeface and can be
conveniently downloaded from Google Fonts.
The following fonts have been selected as secondary typefaces to complement Frutiger and Roboto.
TYPOGRAPHY : WEBSITE
Helvetica is not a standard Windows font and requires a licence. Please note that unlicensed usage of Helvetica will incur a substantial fee from the font foundry, which shall be borne by the NUS entity in question.
TYPOGRAPHY : WEBSITE AND ADMINISTRATIVE USAGE
Standard Windows and macOS font
Arial can be used for daily correspondence or non-marketing material such as forms and letters. Similar to Frutiger, embedding Arial in your website or digital content will require an extended license.
TYPOGRAPHY : FOR GENERAL USE
While Noto Serif is not a standard Windows font, it is available as a commercially free typeface and can be
conveniently downloaded from Google Fonts.
